who am i?
Hi! My name is Caleb Sheedy, and I am a 25 year old New York-based actor, director and creative originally from New Paltz, NY in the beautiful Hudson Valley, just 90 miles from NYC.

I attended Syracuse University, graduating in 2022 with my BFA in Acting, and completing an additional Directing track within the Drama Department. While in school, I was awarded a US-UK Fulbright Award to study Acting at Shakespeare's Globe in London for a summer. It was a transformative experience that sparked my passion for directing and producing.

Since graduating, I've moved home and found a place at The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, an incredible not-for-profit theatre tucked away in Rhinebeck, NY. In the past three years, I've had the opportunity to work on eight productions, in roles varying from actor, director, assistant director, assistant stage manager, and props master. I acquired so many new skills, including costuming, scenic art and painting, building and constructing props, as well as operating a sound board and spotlight. The CENTER allowed me to grow and learn in ways they never expected. I like to say I am a "multi-passionate artist". Not only do I want to learn as many new skills across many sectors of the theatre industry, but I am passionate about each one, understanding the vital role each plays in a production, and I have found a love and admiration for every position I've held, and will continue to explore in the future!

As an artist, I am actively working to decolonize the arts and remove the lasting and detrimental effects of White Supremacy. This includes accessibility, inclusivity, representation, and equity for all marginalized communities, including, but not limited to, Queer artists, artists of the Global Majority, and disabled artists.
I create work that celebrates authenticity, Queerness, and the complex messiness that it is to be a human being. A big part of my drive as an artist, specifically as a director, is investigating the inner child - a version of ourselves that once approached the world with a pure sense of curiosity and optimism. I seek to highlight that spark of light within pieces that show us the darkest parts of the human experience. I aim to build spaces where people feel seen, challenged, and welcomed exactly as they are. I’m drawn to stories that break rules, blur boundaries, and make room for both vulnerability and play. At the heart of my work is a hopefulness — a belief that tapping into our earliest wonder can reconnect us to possibility, joy, and truth. My mission is to create art that sparks connection, invites reflection, and allows others to rediscover their own sense of magic.
